Cherry Mobile Flare S3 Problems: Temporary and Permanent Solutions

Cherry Mobile Flare S3 Unboxed, Source: Google
The Cherry Mobile Flare S3, like other expensive brands, are not perfect. There will be bugs and limitations. As a CM Flare S3 user, I have come up with some problems on this phone and have gathered other problems from other users I knew. When there's a problem, there is a solution!

Touch screen problem:

Is your phone hard to press sometimes in the left and right side of the phone? Most people label this as, "Hard to press letter A, letter L, and DELETE/BACKSPACE keyboard button."

  • Temporary Solution: Lock and Unlock screen and it can be fixed temporarily, repeat if it happens again.
  • Permanent Solution: According to some user who have encountered the problem, it is due to the stock OGS (One Glass Solution) that is locally-made, so replacing the LCD screen solved the problem.

Battery Problem:

1,800mAh battery for a Quad Core processor and a Kitkat Android OS? It sucks, I know! I can roughly spend 3 to 4 hours straight with a wifi on.

  • Temporary Solution: Some people use powerbanks in order to use their phone without worrying about getting lowbat.
  • Permanent Solution: Some experts in tweaking smartphones have used other batteries to replace the stock battery, some have claimed to use Cubot battery which is not sold locally in the Philippines. While some uses Samsung Batteries and tweaked it to fit into the phone.

Right now, we are waiting for phones that are similar to Cherry Mobile Flare S3 with same battery size but has higher mAh capacity.

Temperature problem:

Yes, Flare S3 gets hot faster than some phones, because of this you are forced to stop using your phone for a while to prevent overheating. The phone gets hot faster when you play games, but some games work well with the phones temperature limit. Texting, wifi and Facebook don't make the phone too hot, so you can use it all day without worrying about the heat.

Breaking problem:

Although my phone has been with me for more then three months now, I have not experienced any screen breaks that some people have claimed. All smartphones are not diamonds, they all break when they fall. What I did was just to take care of my phone and bought a leather case to protect it, but it does not guarantee, it is on how you handle the phone well.

More problems with Cherry Mobile Flare S3 will be added into this post once I have come up with an update of some problems that require attention.

READ THE FULL-TEXT: Mga minamahal ko pong kababayan:

Sabi nga sa Bibliya, “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.”

Tulad nga po ng sinabi ni Martin Luther King sa Amerika: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

(Source: gov.ph)

Understanding PNP-SAF's Chain of Command

PNP-SAF Troopers. Understanding PNP-SAF's specific Chain of Command which is the Line of Authority.

What is Line of Authority?
  • The chain of command within an organization that confers the power to order subordinates to perform a task within their job description. The line of authority within a business establishes who is in charge of giving who orders, and it contributes to the efficient attainment of the company's objectives when property is used.
The PNP-SAF's Line of Authority is different from the Military's Chain of Command structure. With the meaning presented above, each subordinate is answerable to its superior.

Here's some pinpoint info about command responsibility in the PNP according to some source we found on the internet according to a user "Abdulkadirjulmani"

Lets start with The Basic Doctrine - A Commander is responsible to what his unit fails or does to do. Responsibility cannot be delegated. It is only the authority that can be delegated.

Kahit gaano kahaba-haba pababa ang mga subordinates mo, ikaw pa rin as Chief PNP has the overall Command Responsibility and each one under him is accountable to their own individual action.

“A PNP CHIEF is responsible to what all his subordinate unit commanders do, up to the last smallest unit of PNP. Why? Because the first command or order was issued by PNP Chief. -.(this is going up responsibility)

COMMAND RESPONSIBILITY CANNOT BE DELEGATED:

-The Chief PNP is responsible for what his regional director do, who is responsible for what his district director do; who is in turn responsible for what his Chief of Police do, who is responsible for what smallest unit comdr do ,who is responsible for what each policeman do under him .” – EVERYONE IS ACCOUNTABLE AND ANSWERABLE OF HIS OWN INDIVIDUAL ACTION(S)

AUTHORITY CAN BE DELEGATED

-The Chief PNP can delegate his authority to his regional director, who can delegate his authority to his district director who can delegate his authority to his Chief of Police, who can delegate his authority to his smallest unit comdr who can delegate his authority to each individual policeman under him .” RESPONSIBILITY GOES BACK AND ENDS AT THE DOORSTEP OF THE PNP CHIEF.-

What CSUPT CERBO is saying is Accountability? Accountablity is individualistic while Responsibility goes up to the Line of Authority or Chain of Command. Kahit gaano kahaba haba ang authority pababa sa subordinates ,si Chief PNP pa rin has the Overall Command Responsibility. But each under him is individual Accountable for their individual actions..

The question, did Purisima broke the Chain of Command? No, because there is no Chain of Command in PNP.

Did he broke the Line of Authority? As a suspended Chief of Staff, he did broke the Line of Authority.

This post is to abolish ignorance of what people have been speaking about false "Chain of Commands" in the internet. Let us remember that the PNP is different from the military and so they use different command structures.

Bill filed to prevent minors 'addiction' to DOTA, Counter-Strike

The most popular MOBA game in the Philippines, DotA 2

MANILA – A bill has been filed at the House of Representatives seeking to prohibit all computer shop owners from admitting minors into their establishments within school hours.

In a statement released on Sunday, Valenzuela City first district representative Win Gatchalian said House Bill No. 4740, to be known as the “Internet Cafe Regulation Act," will limit children’s access to computers and other gadgets to prevent addiction and untoward incidents on popular games, such as DOTA and Counter-Strike.

"High-stakes matches involving gambling among gamers, who are usually minors, tend to result in violence when one party becomes dissatisfied with the result of the match,” he said.

In the initial deliberation of HB 4740, Gatchalian said parents also have an important role in monitoring the computer games and websites their children access.

“Dapat din bantayan ng mga magulang kung appropriate ba sa age ng mga anak nila ang games at websites na nilalaro o binibisita ng mga bata,” Gatchalian said.

Due to too much computer exposure, Gatchalian said the risk of addiction to game and other unwanted sites among children increases.

“On one hand, Internet has allowed people to research and conduct work without having to invest so much on time,” he said.

"However, we also need to recognize that computers bring entertainment through games, and children have the tendency to be easily addicted to these games as they have impressionable minds that games could be easily influenced,” Gatchalian added.

Even before this bill was filed, minors were not allowed to play during class hours in some cities in the Philippines.

Poor pinay domestic helper in Saudi seeks help from the authorities

Bernadette filmed herself asking for help due to Sexual harassment.
A female Filipino domestic helper in Saudi filmed herself asking help from the authorities because of what happened to her.

The incident happened during August 30, where the son of her boss went to the guest room she was cleaning. The man came to her and asked for a 'sexual intercourse' with her but she refused. The man threatened here not tell anyone of what happened.

This made her make a video asking help from the authorities because she is afraid that something worst may happen to her if she refuses again. Her passport was not with her that's why she couldn't run away.

The video has lots of negative comments from local Saudi Arabian in the Youtube video.

Why millions of Filipinos still believe in PNoy

President Benigno Aquino III
Despite the heat of people screaming and rallying for the President Benigno Aquino, III to step down, millions still believe in the advocacy of the current president - this according to the social media numbers calling for people to think twice.

To some people who are not Pro-PNoy, they rather want the current president Aquino than Binay. This is due to the allegations that has not been answered with Binay's side and Makati conspiracies. It is also one of the reason why some people don't want PNoy to resign.

"I rather want a president who made a mistake than a president who stole money from people." This was one of the statements that is circulating in the social media using images as political memes in support of PNoy.

"No one can take a good man down." This according to the Pro-Aquino who still believes in the advocacy of the president on his "Tuwid na daan."

Even 300 students from Universities who rallied for PNoy resignation were bashed by the Netizens saying, "They rather go to school and read books to learn what is really happening in this country than get funding from the people who plot against PNoy that sponsored their t-shirts, allowance and banners."

Many are convinced that rallies were just sponsored by political enemies of PNoy who wants him to resign for their personal gain.

Peping Cojuanco, PNoy's uncle from the mother side rally against him.

Rallies that are happening now are dubbed as circus by the netizens who think they were just used by the people who plot against the president. Like the failed rally in EDSA where some Cojuanco wants the President to step down. Peping Cojuanco, uncle of the President Aquino, is one of his relatives who plot against him, but netizens just made fun of him, while some saying, "He is protesting against his nephew coz he cannot steal money anymore." According to one of the netizens. Many people believe in the change of governance during Aquino's term, many people believed that political enemies are rallying and putting plots against him because of Aquino's impact on good governance which made some senators put to jail due to the alleged Pork barrel scam.

Bangsamoro (BBL) A sell-out to Malaysia?

According to this image, as soon as BBL is passed, Malaysia will take over this highlighted part of the Philippines.
BANGSAMORO AGREEMENT A SELL-OUT TO MALAYSIA (Conspiracy):

On Annexure of the Agreement it said “Bangsamoro government will own the natural resources in its territory.” The Philippine Constitution states “all natural resources are owned by the Philippine State.” No wonder, MILF has already allotted 75% shares of Liguasan Marsh estimated to be worth US$500 billion of oil and gas deposits in Cotabato to Petronas Malaysia, 20% to unknown interests (presumably Philippine government cronies) and 5% shares to MILF.

Is it surprising Malaysia calls the shot in the Bangsamoro territory? NO. Malaysia is the paymaster and funder of the MILF. Thus, it can dictate terms to the MILF. Since 1996 till today Malaysia paid senior leaders of MILF with money and mansions in Kuala Lumpur, plus money, guns, bullets, uniforms and bullets to the MILF troops to fight the Philippine Government in a secessionist war, not because Malaysia loved the Mindanao Muslims, but to keep Sabah and continue its illegal Sabah occupation as well as to continue its exploitation and plunder of Sabah’s riches amounting to US$100 billion from its oil and gas, agriculture, forestry, fishing, tourism etc., own by Tausugs and Filipinos.

In other words the Bangsamoro territory will be the BUFFER ZONE against Return of Sabah to the true Sultan of Sulu His Majesty Sultan Fuad A. Kiram and to His Tausug people and Filipinos.

In the Bangsamoro Agreement WHO IS THE WINNER? Malaysia. WHO ARE THE LOSERS? The Filipino people. Is it worth it? CERTAINLY NOT. You need a hole in the head to even consider it.

So why are current Philippine government officials over eager for the Bangsamoro Agreement passed by Congress? Who are the real WINNERS with Malaysia? Is there a sell-out like a fire sale to Malaysia of Sabah and South Philippines territories? I think so. I like to know and who are the guilty culprits?

Stories persist Malaysia paid Philippine government officials US$1 billion negotiated by a Malaysian sultan but only US$750 million paid to the officials before the signing of the Bangsamoro Agreement on March 27, 2014. Now it will be sensational news to know who these officials were who received less than 1% of Sabah's annual illegal plunder by Malaysia. The mind boggles.

Aquino Resignation is a black propaganda from political enemies

Philippine President Benigno Aquino, III
It is too absurd that a president should step down for a single mistake made. That said mistake was the cause of the death of the PNP-SAF during the Mamasapano killing.

This post is not made to promote President Aquino nor the author is a Pro-Aquino. My basis are based on facts and reality of what is happening in our country. Why do the Filipino people follow the ideas of other people? Aquino should resign, that's what they've been all crying in the social media because he was responsible of the death of the PNP-SAF during the clash.

Here's a fact that everyone should know:
  • Every soldier knows that their lives are at stake on their job.
  • The President is the commander-in-chief, but what will happen next is part of the soldier's training - coordination, plans and skills in combat.
  • The President may be responsible for their death as commander-in-chief, but he is not to be blamed. As like a son is a responsibility of the parents, but what happened to the child is at his own will and choice.
  • In U.S, many soldiers died during the battle, but people did not call for the resignation of their president.
It is not like the President goes with the soldiers in combat, he gives orders, but the plan and the coordination of what the soldiers will do depends on what they have trained for it. The higher ranks also holds responsible because they coordinate with its members.

Let us know what PNoy has did for our country, in his term, we were surprised of the Pork Barrel Scam lords like Napoles, Enrile, Estrada and Revilla being put up to jail. There were controversies exposed from the people in the government, like the Binay allegations that are still unanswered to this day.

Let us open our eyes that this is a part of an agenda done by the enemies of Aquino, because we know how many corrupt individuals have been exposed in his term, and the result of it will be more enemies on his administration.

Even the president's relatives of Cojuanco were against him. We should open our eyes and think twice of what we think, it is too impossible to have a perfect president. But at least in 10 things he did, he made 9 of them right and only 1 of them wrong.

Our judgments should not be clouded by the death of our honorable soldiers and the gossips of other people. Remember, you have your own choice, do not always believe what you see and hear, as long as you are aware of what has happened into our country, you will not be fooled by black propaganda played by the people in the government.

  • Due to its 1,800mAh Battery Capacity, it can get low bat easily. I normally last 6 hours with just Facebook, and probably an average of 4 to 5 hours when playing heavy games (Clash of Clans)
  • LCD Screen can easily be broken (Although my phone has been with me for 3 months, I had no issues with broken LCD since I bought a leather case and handles it very carefully)
  • Some keyboard problem: Yes, I had hard-touch keyboard problem with my phone, sometimes, in an unknown reasons, it is so hard to touch a letter, mosty from left and right side of the keyboard. But some users have not encountered such problems.
My verdict:

A latest Android smartphone just for P3,999? For me, its really more than what you've paid for. Even the most expensive phones have their disadvantages, so I rather stick with something that is affordable but worth it at the same time.

Duterte willing to run for President this 2016 Elections

Davao City Mayor Duterte

The propaganda has really paid off, Davao City Mayor Duterte has said that he is willing to run for Presidency this coming 2016 Philippine elections.

He has been a noise in the social media about people wanting him to be the next President, in tandem with Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago on how he had improved Davao City and abolished crimes in the said city. According to his statement, "If only to save this republic, I could run for President.", hmm, sounds promising. I am not an anti-Duterte, but is he really worth the shot?

I know he had run Davao City pretty well, but I will fear that Death Penalty will soon be welcomed into the Philippine Constitution. Why am I against Death Penalty? Do I not want people who caused evil in this country dead?

Death Penalty

Yes, he is famous for killing "drug lords" and those who have committed serious crimes in his city.

People may not be aware of the effects of Death Penalty, this country is still controlled by powerful people who remains to be anonymous, and I know that the people who have been put to jail, like Enrile, is not the highest power. Death penalty has its ultimate price, killing a person who is not guilty of the accused charges.

We have seen in movies about people who have been penalized by Death because of crimes accused, and in the end, we realized that the accused was not guilty.

Filipino mannerism

This "people's cry" is so familiar, I remember when people want PNoy to be the next president. But what happened now is that some of them wants him to be impeached. I bet when Duterte wins the Presidency, he may do some good stuff and improved our country, but as soon as he will make a single mistake, people will bash him and tell him to step down. So familiar isn't it?

It's a guess, but who knows. Vote wisely!

Viral video uploader surfaces, now what?

Uniforms of the Fallen 44 taken and hanged.
The viral video of the Mamasapano killing "uploader" was invited to the NBI. Although the uploader's identity is withheld, the question is, now what?

If the viral video "uploader" is now a suspect due to his possession of the video. But is the "uploader" the real deal here? Where is the real guy who took the video?

The Government should focus on the real suspect of the video, the "uploader" just might be a civilian who got the video from another sources and decided to upload it on the internet. It is funny how an "uploader" is being charged with crimes while those who are really behind the killing of the Fallen 44 is still roaming around carrying guns and celebrating their triumph, such insult to honor.

Sad truth: My insight on Filipino Ash Wednesday

Man marked with a cross made of ash on Ash Wednesday
The purpose of Ash Wednesday is to repent, as like what Gospels in the New Testament about Jesus Christ who endured 40 days into the desert tempted by Satan.

As a Catholic that studies in a Catholic School, there is a sad truth in this event. Not all who participated in the Ash Wednesday (those who are marked) are just up for the trend.

The social media age has given way for those people who participates on Ash Wednesday just to be a trend and take selfies of it to show that they are marked, but the reality is, they do not obey the rules of fasting.

Most of them do not fast, and some disobey the rules of not eating meat. I did not participate the Ash Wednesday because for me, it is a disgrace and insult to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, because I myself is honest that I cannot obey the rules of fasting.

Participating in the Ash Wednesday should be voluntary, because if you force people to participate, there's no guarantee that all people goes with the rules in order to repent.

Filipino Catholics on Ash Wednesday and Tagle calls for Charity

Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
A month after  Pope Francis visited the Philippines, the Filipinos are now observing the Ash Wednesday.

What is Ash Wednesday?

Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting, is the first day of Lent in Western Christianity. It occurs 46 days (40 fasting days, if the 6 Sundays, which are not days of fast, are excluded) before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10 March. Ash Wednesday is observed by many Western Christians, including Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Anglicans, and Presbyterians.

The Manila Archdiocese Cardinal Tagle urged Filipinos to be charitable, that the money saved from fasting should be donated to charity in order to feed children and the poor.

Last year, 2014, the Fast2Feed campaign has fed over 150,000 children in Yolanda-affected areas and another 20,000 children during HAPAG-ASA feeding program.

On Ash Wednesday, millions of Filipinos go to church to have their foreheads marked with a cross using ash from palm fronds blessed during the Palm Sunday of the previous year's Holy Week.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago called relieved Special Action Force (SAF) director Getulio NapeƱas a failure that resulted in the death of the 44 PNP-SAF.

According to the mission plan, the PNP SAF commandos should have reached the target at 2:30 a.m but there were "intervening factors" involved that made the operation a failure.

Miriam told NapeƱas that he's a failure and incompetent because he let those intervening factors affect and change the course of operation. "If the operation can't be perfect, at least it runs smoothly", she added.

In addition, she tackled about how insulted she was on how the rebels uploaded the viral video on Youtube and bragged about their killings like it was a trophy to kill the PNP-SAF during the encounter.

Miriam made Purisima look like a puppy

Miriam Defensor Santiago is back! This is what the Netizens label her come back to the senate hearings after being quiet for some time. This time she was scolding the former PNP Chief Alan Purisima due to his involvement in the Mamasapano incident.

"(Kung hindi ka sumali, buhay pa sana sila ngayon!) If you did not intervene, they should have alive today!" It is what Senator Miriam told Purisima during the hearing. The Senator also scolded the former PNP chief due to his pointing fingers and stating he does not know anything that was accused to him.

Purisima told Miriam that he only gave an advise to the PNP-SAF's 'Oplan Wolverine' operation and did not order them. But this made Miriam even more angrier because you can't say it is an advise when it is being followed, it is already a form of order.

But the interesting part that the Netizens have noticed is that how Miriam made Purisima like a puppy with the look of his face. Miriam's charisma and brave words really made Purisima look like a disobedient child.

Iqbal questions the viral video's authenticity

MILF chief peace negotiator Mohagher Iqbal
During the hearing of the still controversial viral video of Mamasapano killing, Senator Trillanes IV questioned the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief peace negotiator Mohagher Iqbal if it was one of his men who brutally killed the PNP-SAF in a Mamasapano viral video that has scattered in the social media today.

Mohagher Iqbal stated that the viral video could be a work of an advanced technology that most people are now knowledgeable today (Like movie effects, etc). It could be just an act because the video scattered in the social media. He also said that it could be a work of those who want to accuse the MILF so that the Bangsamoro Basic Law would be dismissed because of the outrage of the Filipino people.

Many netizens are outraged by his statment saying that such happening shouldn't be questioned. Because they don't think what happened was a just a dramatic play and things like this should be taken seriously, not to be doubted.

The authenticity of the viral video is supported by the statement made by the brother of the police that was brutally killed in the video, Julius Sagonoy, who confirmed and is undoubtful that it was his brother PO1 Joseph Sagonoy who was on the video.

The identity of the gunman is still being investigated as of today.

How to treat Bronchitis the natural way

A kid on a nebulizer. Source: Google
Bronchitis is a respiratory disease in which the mucus membrane in the lungs' bronchial passages becomes inflamed.

As the irritated membrane swells and grows thicker, it narrows or shuts off the tiny airways in the lungs, resulting in coughing spells that may be accompanied by phlegm and breathlessness.

The disease comes in two forms: acute (lasting from one to three weeks) and chronic (lasting at least 3 months of the year for two years in a row).

Many Filipinos are experiencing bronchitis, asthma and other respiratory problems because of too much pollution and number of smokers in our country. These respiratory problem are genetic, which means it can be passed down from generation to generation. Although some of the symptoms can be associated with pneumonia, it doesn't mean that it is what it is.

Respiratory problems like lung cancer are mostly caused by smoking, dusts, allergens and bacteria than can infect the airways in our lungs.

Aside from treating these respiratory problems that include breathlessness or 'hard to breathe' cough problem with Nebulizers, there is a natural way of remedying these symptoms that are available in our country that is abundant and can even be planted in your backyard. They are backyard herb or plant remedies.

  • Be hydrated at all times, water, is undoubtedly important.
  • Breathe fresh air, stay away from pollution in order to not worsen the problem.
  • Get plenty of rest, a very proven advise to help your body function well.
  • Exercise, walking for example.
  • Eat foods with onions, and garlic on it - They are known as natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation spices.
  • Drink ginger tea - An anti-inflammatory tea that is also good for your throat, like for singing.
  • The benefit of Lemongrass tea for lung or respiratory problem - Has powerful pain-relieving properties since people with bronchitis or asthma will feel pain in the chest because of coughing too much. This is also an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial grass that it too abundant in our country.

IF it's too hard to breathe, I advice to use prescribed medication such as Nebulizers, using natural remedies will be of great help in curing the disease faster.

Do What You Love, Because Society Is A Trap And Work Is Meaningless

A quote by Joe Rogan

Here, comedian Joe Rogan talks about work and meaning in his own unique style, asking some important (and sometimes uncomfortable) questions about what our purpose is as a society, and as an individual. Aren’t we supposed to be contributing? He asks. Is contributing the same as working? Rogan concludes that these two things are entirely separate, at least in most cases, and has some thought-provoking advice for anyone who is stuck in a job they hate…follow your dreams instead.

“We got sidetracked and diverted into these boxes, these cubicles in offices,” he says. “So instead of investing your time in a passion, you’ve sold your life to work for an uncaring machine that doesn’t understand you. That’s the problem with our society. And what’s the reward? Go home and get a big TV.”

Do you agree with Rogan’s ideas? What do work and society mean to you? Did you ever quit a successful career to chase a dream? Did you manage to marry the two things? Let us know your thoughts..

Woman Falls To Her Death After Being Proposed To On A Cliff

The Cliff
Dimitrina Dimitrova was visiting her boyfriend in Ibiza and she was going to get the ultimate surprise, but it ended in tragedy.

The boyfriend took Dimitrina to a famous, romantic cliffside at the Cala Tarida resort in Ibiza, and he proposed to the love of his life right then and there!

But tragically, it was more than she could handle, and while jumping, Dimitrina lost her balance and fell 65 feet, tragically dying from a heart attack due to her injuries.

Both Dimitrina and her boyfriend are from Bulgaria, but she was planning to move to Spain with him, where he is a waiter.

The authorities don't suspect any foul play, and this all seems to be one truly tragic "freak accident."

Our thoughts are with their families and friends.

Palestinian chased by Israeli soliders went viral

The world's bravest selfie? Snap of Palestinian man being chased by Israeli soldiers isn't all it seems. The shocking image rapidly went viral, amassing tens of thousands of views and shares within just one hour of it being posted online.
The viral chase selfie

This selfie appears to show a terrified Palestinian being chased by gun-toting members of the Israeli military.

Unsurprisingly, the shocking image rapidly went viral, amassing tens of thousands of views and shares within just one hour of it being posted online.

However, a number of eagle-eyed viewers - and fans of Middle Eastern rap music - quickly identified the selfie-snapper as hip-hop star Tamer Nafar.

In addition, they swiftly fingered the two Israeli as being Suhell Nafar and Mahmoud Jreri, Tamer's bandmates in DAM, aka Da Arabian MCs.

And it transpires that the selfie was designed to promote their music.

Is this the stupidest selfie ever? 'GCSE exam picture' goes viral

Formed in the 1990s, the group claims to be the first Palestinian hip-hop crew.

When asked whether the picture was a fake, a DAM representative said they did not want to be quoted on record because they were "enjoying watching the reaction the photo is generating online".

It is not the band's first brush with controversy.

In 2012, their video for 'If I Could Go Back in Time' dealt with the issue of honour killings of women, a subject rarely discussed in mainstream pop culture.

The video was both applauded and condemned within Palestinian society.

Many congratulated the rappers for drawing attention to the topic, while others criticised them for making simplistic caricatures of Arab social issues.

An adorable orphaned lamb is proving to be not so much a copycat, but a copydog.

Pet loves nothing more than running riot with the four collies she was brought up with on a farm in the Scottish Highlands - despite her dodgy back legs.

She sleeps with the canines every night and even believes that the oldest dog, Dice, is her MUM.

Owner Jemma Mackenzie, from Ullapool, Ross-shire, said on YouTube that Pet followed her four pawed pals "everywhere from a very young age."

It looks like Jemma has discovered a whole new breed of sheepdog...

Marwan's dying declaration sent on e-mail

Marwan sent brother his dying declaration through e-mail
CHICAGO – Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir reportedly wrote his brother in 2006 instructing him to dispose of his inheritance from their father and give them to his two children if he died “as a martyr.”

Zulkifli had e-mailed his elder brother Rahmat, a naturalized US citizen currently serving sentence for conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

“If I died as a martyr, and if there was some inheritance from the sale of dad’s land, please don’t forget about my two children here. Please don’t forget to transfer them into the same account that you’ve been using,” Zulkifli, also known as Marwan, wrote his brother in July 2006.

Marwan repeatedly emailed his brother detailing the firefights between the Philippine military and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

“Two martyred, 20 troops died. From here, the location is about six or seven hours away on foot. The fighting is still going on until now. I can hear it from my location. It started early morning from 6 o’clock until evening. I think it has been going on for eight days now. Earlier today, a helicopter was flying back and forth over in that area. You can hear it from here,” Marwan told his brother in an email on June 30, 2006.

Marwan said 27 government troops died in the battle against five in the MILF. He did not say where the fighting took place.

“My friend was just telling me again that there are four martyrs now. He is in the field right now. The other day, two of my friends from here (they’re about five kilometers from my location) went out to reinforce. He wanted to join the battle. In the future, I want to go when there is need for reinforcement. I can’t go by myself. I must have a local guide with me,” Marwan said.

In several email messages, Marwan detailed how it was to live among “martyrs.”

He also mentioned the involvement of the US government in the battle of the Philippine government against Muslim rebels.

He said the US military is using Orion spy planes and Predator drones to help Philippine troops monitor the movements of the Muslim rebels.

Marwan also mentioned a “J” among them, apparently referring to a member of the regional terror network Jemaah Islamiyah (JI).

The JI was tagged in the 2002 Bali bombings where 202 people were killed.

“J” could also mean “jihadist,” someone engaged in a holy war against unbelievers of Islam.

In another email, Marwan said, “On July 10, 2006 approximately ten days after the death of A. Hashim, one squad of Special Action Forces (SAF) commandos, around 15 people, armed with M-4s, mini-M-60, 9mm pistols, 45 caliber pistols, night vision, and guided by government assets (spies) surrounded Lagu’s home with objective of capturing him (maybe alive).

“His house was broken into and the door got torn off. His wife and child were able to get out before the exchange of fire. Three of Lagu’s neighbors with Armalite rifles were able to assist until the attacking commandos withdrew. As a result, two commandos died, including team leader. One M-4 Armalite, one Taurus 9mm pistol, one .45 Norincol pistol, one night vision, one led diode flashlight, two M-60 belts with 200 rounds were seized.

“Lagu was asleep already in the house, protected by Allah. The people there took all of the spoils of war. Man! The rifles were new, the latest,” he said.

Rifles for sale

On Sept. 1, 2006, Rahmat reportedly wire transferred to Marwan the amount $5,500 through a Maybank account in the name of Minah binti Aogis Abd Aziz.

On or about Sept. 30, 2006, Zulkifli sent email to Rahmat, “If you have some available, please send a little bit more.”

“Over here people are ready to go to war. The US Orion spy plane has been circling the sky around the areas here during these past 3 to 4 days.”

Again Marwan wrote to his brother on Nov. 9, 2006, “We will know whether there will be a war or not by the 16th of November that would be the deadline for the Philippine government to submit the counter proposal to the MILF.”

Marwan also revealed corruption in the Philippine military.

“Commander A. Wahid says that there is a soldier who wants to sell a new .50 caliber for US$5,000. He said that he can only afford $2,000 and asked to find the remaining $3,000… The government assets (spies) at Pikit are regular people, not commanders. Among the five assets the other day, two of them died. One died three days after the Aug. 10th incident for stealing a motorcycle. He was caught by the locals and beaten to death. The other one died around two or three days before the Raya celebration, shot by an Armalite. The shooters were friends of Lagu’s neighbors,” he said.

On Feb. 9, 2007, Marwan sent Rahmat an email saying how some MILF commanders have double loyalties.

“Adan Abdula is the base commander of division 106. He has his left foot on the MILF, and his right foot on Datu Andal. When they have battle with Amer Umra Kato from division 105, his troops become Andal’s dogs merged with Andal’s troops. Was shot by someone...” Marwan said in referring to Andal Ampatuan, one of the accused in the Maguindanao massacre in 2009 and Kato, the leader of the breakaway Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters that vowed to go against the peace negotiations of the MILF with the Philippine government.

On March 6, 2007, Marwan sent an email to Rahmat telling him he was constantly on the run.

“The latest update I heard was that 17 died as martyrs and more than 60 soldiers were killed. The American soldiers operated unmanned Predator spy plane, which has been hovering around more than four times above Bngla’s house. I am currently mobile, moving from one place to another.”

Marwan later sent an email saying US spy planes were hovering over his area.

“Spy planes have been hovering over this area these past two days. There is a big (US Orion). There is a small one that looks like an eagle (Predator). This FM radio receiver has been picking up American voices during these past two days: ‘We are ready to launch.’”

Marwan said the Americans have joined the Filipino troops for joint exercise in his area.

“Do you still have the radio scanner that you used to have? How much does a set cost? The latest update is that more than twenty died as martyrs, more than 70 soldiers killed, and more than a hundred injured,” Marwan told his elder brother.

DNA sample

Zulkifli and Rahmat were charged in violation of a 9/11-inspired International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) in the US.

Under this law, the US President has authority to “investigate, regulate, or prohibit” transactions involving “any property in which any foreign country or a national thereof has any interest by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.”

On Sept. 23, 2001, President George W. Bush, based on IEEPA, issued Executive Order No. 13224, entitled “Blocking Property and Prohibiting Transactions with Persons Who Commit, Threaten to Commit or Support Terrorism” to address “the terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon committed on Sept. 11, 2001” and “the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks on US nationals or the United States.”

Without naming Rahmat as Zulkifli’s relative, the FBI could have used the DNA of Rahmat to match his brother’s based on the sentencing guidelines pronounced by Judge Jeremy Fogel of the US District Court in Northern California.

Fogel had ordered Rahmat to “cooperate in the collection of DNA as directed by the probation officer.”

The DNA sample provided by Rahmat was used to compare the biological sample supposedly taken from Zulkifli’s body in the Philippines.

Following a 20-minute hearing on Aug. 26, 2010, Fogel sentenced Rahmat to spend 120 months in a federal prison, three years’ supervised release and $100 special assessment fee.

Rahmat had pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists in the offense and dismissed the rest of the indictments returned by a grand jury on Aug. 1, 2007.

Had Rahmat gone to trial, he would have faced 15 years in prison and $250,000 fine if he were convicted on charges of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

Because Rahmat is “not considered a threat the United States,” Fogel said he “should be housed accordingly” and be “remanded to the Custody of the US Marshal” and his “appearance bond is hereby exonerated.”

Since Rahmat could not be deported because he is a US naturalized citizen, Fogel also ordered him to a three-year supervised release and report to the probation office in the district of release within 72 hours from the custody of the Bureau of Prisons.

Rahmat was also ordered to “not unlawfully possess a controlled substance” and “shall submit to one drug test within 15 days of release from imprisonment and two periodic drug tests.”

However, the “drug testing condition is suspended based on the court’s determination that the defendant poses a low risk of future substance abuse” and the “defendant shall not possess a firearm, ammunition, destructive device, or any other dangerous weapon.”

Rahmat, 51, is currently detained at the Federal Correctional Institution Lompoc, a low security institution in Lompoc, California. He is scheduled to be released on April 18, 2016.

Rahmat was indicted by a grand jury based on records unsealed on Aug. 1, 2007.

The indictments were based on a series of exchanges of email messages between Rahmat and Marwan “beginning on a date unknown and continuing through at least August 2007 in the Northern District of California and elsewhere.”

In sending terrorism materials, Rahmat used his sender’s names as “Sean Kasem, Sean Kalimin, Roy Kalimin and Salam A. Jabar” while he addressed the packages to his younger brother under the aliases as “Zulkifli Bin Abdul Hir, Hulagu, Holagu, Lagu, Marwan, Kulon, Musa Abdul, Musa Abdul Hir, Zulkifli Abdul Hir, Zulkifli bin Hir, Abdul Hir bin Zulkifli, Abdulhir Bin Hir and Bin Abdul Hir Zulkifli.”

Rahmat used his email address of ariman789@yahoo.com and sends his email to his brother under the email handles, ikankariman@yahoo.com and dutyfree97@yahoo.com.

In their email exchanges, Marwan wanted Rahmat to send him “accessories for firearms, backpacks, Insignia two-way radios, knives and publications about firearms” to the Philippines, using such codes as “iron” for firearms, “dogs” for government agents and “prizes and presents” for bombs or IEDs (improvised explosive devices).

Zulkifli was either born on Jan. 5, 1966 or Oct. 5, 1966 in Muar, Johor, Malaysia. He speaks Malaysian, English, Tagalog and Arabic. He was an engineer trained in the US. Zulkifli was said to be the head of Kumpulun Mujahidin Malaysia (KMM) terrorist organization and a ranking member of JI central command. He trained terrorist organizations in bomb making, including the notorious Abu Sayyaf in southern Philippines.
